 The incident of firing on Imran Khan's container took place on Thursday afternoon when PTI's long march reached Allahwala Chowk in Wazirabad and he was about to address the people. According to the first reports, shots were fired from under the container.
PTI leader Faisal Javed is also among the injured and some local party leaders are also among the injured. After the shooting, PTI workers staged protests in many cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar.

On the other hand, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has been shifted to Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore where he will be cared for by a four-member medical board headed by Dr. by Faisal Sultan. Urdu News correspondent Khurram Shahzad, who was on the container at the time of the shooting, said there was chaos inside and outside the container after the shots were fired.

 

There were cries among the PTI leaders in the container that Imran Khan had been shot and that a way should be found to get him out. Three people were reported to be involved in the attack, one of whom was caught by the mob and handed over to the police. In an interview with local media, the alleged attacker says he wanted to kill Imran Khan because he was "misleading the nation".

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and members of his cabinet held informal meetings shortly after the incident, after which the federal government asked the provincial government to form a high-level committee to investigate the incident.
 Speaking to local media, PTI Secretary General Asad Umar confirmed that Imran Khan was shot in the leg but his condition is non-life threatening. According to Asad Umar, six people were injured in this incident. He said Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Ahmed Chatta and manager Rashid are seriously injured.

After the firing, the long march was stopped while the personnel of the Rescue Service 1122 immediately provided medical aid to the injured and took them to the hospital. After the shooting, the Long March was called off and people were allowed to run around in scenes broadcast by local news channels.

 On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has taken a stern note of the incident of firing on former Prime Minister Imran Khan's container and sought   Pervaiz Elahi ordered that the accused involved in the firing should be brought to justice soon, while IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar took notice of the firing incident and sought the port from RPO Gujarat.The IG Punjab ordered to conduct an investigation into all aspects of the incident and bring the accused to justice as soon as possible.
